Acrobatics and Tumbling Camp

The Trine University acrobatics and tumbling team has announced an overnight summer camp to be held this July.

The camp is scheduled to run from Friday, July 24 through Saturday, July 25. The camp is open to ages eight through 18 at any skill level.

Attendees will receive instruction from Thunder coaches and athletes on the basics of acrobatics and tumbling in the same facilities that the team will use during their inaugural season which is scheduled for the 2020-21 athletic season.

Overnight and commuter options are available for the camp. With the overnight option, attendees will receive meals, housing and a camp shirt. The commuter option includes dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday and the camp shirt. The overnight camp costs $200 while the commuter option costs $150. All cancelations due to COVID-19 will be refunded in full.

Hoosier Basketball Boys Camp

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The 2020 Hoosier Boys Basketball Camp hosted by Trine University will still take place in July with modifications to the schedule.

This year's camp will consist of a day camp only schedule and will take place July 13-15. Grades 1-3 will participate from 9-11 a.m. while campers in grades 4-12 will compete during the hours of noon-3 p.m.  Campers will continue to receive camp t-shirts and basketballs for their participation. Concessions will be offered throughout camp, but meals will not be provided as in the past.

The adjusted price for the camp will be $75 for 1st-3rd graders and $100 for campers in grades 4-12.

*Any further adjustments to the 2020 Hoosier Boys Basketball Camp will be determined by the State of Indiana in cooperation with CDC guidelines for COVID 19 at the time of the event.  All payment will be refunded if camp is cancelled for any reason.

Trine finished the season with a 16-12 overall record in 2019-20 and finished with an 8-6 mark in conference play.  Trine also qualified for the MIAA Tournament for the ninth straight season and advanced to the tournament title game in back-to-back seasons. The Thunder produced two All-MIAA performers, including one first-team member. 


Girls Basketball Prospect Camp

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's basketball team will hold a prospect camp for high school basketball players on July 31, 2020.

The one-day prospect camp will be held in the MTI Center on the campus of Trine University. The camp is open to young women entering grades 10-12 in the fall of 2020. The session is limited to the first 50 players to register. Early registration is $40 (due by July 24) and same-day registration is $50. 

The prospect camp is geared towards high school aged players looking to take their game to the next level. Campers will receive instruction from Trine women's basketball coaches and players and will participate in drill work, competitive games and attend a college admission/recruiting seminar. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt.

Boys Soccer Recruitment Camp 

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's soccer program has rescheduled its recruitment camp to mid-July on Trine's campus.

The camp will have two dates available for sign-up; July 18 (registration full) or July 19.  The camp is intended for high school age players (grades 9-12) who are looking to play soccer at the collegiate level.

Cost of the camp is $99 per particpant.  

The camp is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with check-in scheduled for 10:40 a.m.

Girl's Soccer 2020 Prospect Camp

The Trine University women's soccer coaching staff will host a one-day prospect camp on Saturday, July 25 the team has announced.

The camp which will run from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. is open to all female players graduating high school in 2020 through 2023 and junior college transfer athletes. Campers will receive instruction from head coach Gary Boughton and his staff, a tour of campus and an informational question and answer session.

The camp will cost $70 per individual and will also include lunch and a camp t-shirt. Current Trine women’s soccer student-athletes will also be available to meet and answer questions.

Baseball Holiday Youth Camp

The Trine baseball team will host a Holiday Youth Camp for children in grades 3-8 on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019.

The camp will be divided into two separate sessions with the option of attending one or both sessions.  The first session will run from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and will focus on Infield/Outfield instruction as well as hitting.  The second session will be held from 12:45 p.m. - 3 p.m. and will include instruction for pitching/catching as well as hitting.

Cost for each individual session is $30 per child, or $45 for both sessions.  Lunch WILL NOT be provided, please bring a snack and water if needed. 

Both sessions will be held in the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (or "ARC").  Campers will receive instruction from the Trine coaching staff and players.

The Trine baseball team will host a Prospect Camp for high school seniors in September.

The Prospect Camp is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019 and will run from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.  Gates open at 8:30 a.m. for check-in.

The camp will be held at Jannen Field on Trine's campus and includes a defensive combine and batting practice in the morning, followed by lunch/tour and a game in the afternoon. 

The cost of the camp is $60 per individual.

Baseball High School Prospect Camps

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University baseball team has announced dates for its high school prospect camps to be held this winter on Trine's campus in Angola, Ind.

The High School Prospect Camp will be available on two different days with the first date scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 and the other option is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8th, 2019.  Both camps will run from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. on both days. 

Both camps will be held in the Ketner Sports Center and the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (or "ARC").  Campers will receive instruction in hitting, pitching and defense that will be conducted by the Trine coaching staff and players.

The cost of the camp is $90 per individual and will also include a camp t-shirt and lunch.  Registration is limited to 25 campers per day.

Boys Basketball Varsity Team Camp

The Trine men's basketball team will host a Varsity Team Camp for high school student-athletes this summer.

The 2017 Trine Men's Basketball Varsity Team Camp is scheduled for Thursday, June. 14 on the campus of Trine University. The one-day camp is open to players in grades 9-12. 

Two certified officials for each game and each team is guaranteed three games.  Main floor games will be filmed and copies will be provided to each team. Full use of all facilities including state of the art film room and weight room.

The cost of the camp is $175 per team.

Boys Basketball Prospect Camp 

The Trine men's basketball team will host a Prospect Camp for high school student-athletes on Sunday, Mar. 22.

The camp will be held at the MTI Center from 1-3:30 p.m. with registration set for noon. The one-day camp is open to players in grades 9-12. 

Cost of the camp is $60 per individual and also includes a camp t-shirt.

Boy's Basketball Elite Camp

The Trine men's basketball team will host an Elite Camp for high school student-athletes this summer.

The 2019 Trine Men's Basketball Elite Camp is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 4 in the MTI Center on the campus of Trine University. The one-day skills camp is open to players entering grades 9-12 for the upcoming 2019-20 academic year.  Players will receive drill work in stations, participate in competitions and have the opportunity to work in five-on-five situations.

The camp is designed to give student-athletes the opportunity to showcase their talent in a collegiate atmosphere. The cost of the camp is $50 per player. Cost includes a camp t-shirt.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn from a coaching staff that has led the Thunder to eight consecutive MIAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first MIAA regular-season championship in 2018-19. Trine produced the MIAA Defensive and Offensive "Players of the Year" an All-Region honoree and three All-MIAA performers last year. 


Girls Basketball Summer Shoot-out

The Trine women's basketball team will host its fifth annual Summer Shoot-Out Friday, Jun. 8, 2018. 

The one-day, 24-team tournament will begin at 9 a.m. in Trine University's MTI Center. Both varsity and JV divisions will be available. Registration is limited to the first 24 teams to sign up. All participating teams are guaranteed at least three games. Registration is $185 per team and is due by May 20.

Each game will feature two, 20-minute halves. The games will feature a running clock except for the last minute of the first half and last two minutes of the second half. IHSAA-licensed referees will work all games.

Cheer and Dance Children Camps

The Trine University cheer and dance programs have announced a pair of camps geared toward children, ages five to 12, that will be taking place in February 2020.

The dance team will host their Storm Troopers Dance Camp on Saturday, February 8 while the cheer team will host their Little Bolts Cheer Camp on Saturday, February 22. Both camps will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Attendees will receive instruction from the Trine University coaching staff and student-athletes during which they will choreograph a halftime performance. Following the instruction period, the attendees will join the Thunder squads for a varsity basketball game where they will participate in team runouts and halftime performances.

The camps will cost $35 for each attendee. That cost includes a t-shirt, memory DVD and entry to the basketball game for both the attendee and guests. Both camps will be held in Hershey Hall with performances taking place in the MTI Center.

The deadline for registration is Wednesday, February 5 for the February 8 camp and Wednesday, February 19 for the February 19 camp. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed after the registration deadline.


Cheer College Prep Clinic

The Trine University cheer team will host a College Prep Clinic on Sunday, March 29.

The camp which is scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will feature stunt stations, a session on collegiate group stunting, a session on baskets and a session on collegiate pyramids. Attendees will have the chance to work with members of the Trine cheer team and the Trine cheer coaches.

A question and answer session will be held at the conclusion of the event.

The clinic is open to all high school cheerleaders, both male and female, and will cost 35 dollars per athlete. It will take place in the Main Gym of Hershey Hall on the Trine University campus.

Boy's Football Prospect/Satellite Camps

ANGOLA, Ind.  --  The Trine University football team will be conducting a pair of prospect/satellite camps at two area high schools this summer.

The first camp is set for Wednesday, June 26, 2019 and will be held at North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Ind.  Registration for the camp will begin at 6 p.m. and the camp itself will run from 7 - 9 p.m.

Cost of the camp is $5 per person and is intended for high school players who will be graduating in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The second camp will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at St. Joseph's High School in South Bend, Ind.  Registration for the camp will begin at 6 p.m. and the camp will run from 7 - 9 p.m.

Cost of the camp is also $5 per person and is intended for high school players who will be graduating in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Trine Thunder Girls Lacrosse Camp

The Trine University women's lacrosse team will offer a summer camp open to girls lacrosse players ages 14-18, the team has announced. 

The camp runs from Monday, July 30 through Wednesday, Aug. 1. The camp begins with check-in from 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on July 30 and will end with check-out at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 1.

Campers will receive instruction from college coaches with an emphasis on position training, advanced skills, and small sided play. Campers will also be coached through team concepts, scrimmages and a high level of competition. All sessions will be held on Trine University's Shive Field, home of Thunder lacrosse.

Overnight and commuter options are available. The commuter option includes four meals with a cost of $250. The overnight option includes two nights of lodging and six meals, with prices of $275 for goalies and $300 for field players. All campers will receive a reversible jersey as a part of their experience.

Angola Youth Soccer League

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's soccer program will host the Angola Youth Soccer League on Trine's campus beginning in September.

The league will begin on Sunday, September 15 and run for five straight weeks, one day a week, with the last session scheduled for October 13.   

Cost of joining the league is $50 and intended for children ages 3-12.  Each member will receive a free team t-shirt.  

Each one-hour session is designed by college coaches and will be run by college players under the supervision of the coaches.

2020 Softball Players Clinic

The Trine University softball team has announced the date for the 14th Annual Trine Softball Players Clinic.

The pitching session is full as of Tuesday, Feb. 4. Registration for the catching session and general afternoon session are still open.

This year the team will host the event on Sunday, Feb. 16.

Participants will receive instruction from one of the top coaching staffs in the nation as well as a free campus tour and interaction with the current Thunder softball team.

The general afternoon session (1:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.), which is open to players 12 and up, costs $85. Catching and pitching sessions are available in the morning at a cost of $30 each. Catching and pitching spots are limited to 30 players.

There is no deadline to register. Walk-ins may be accepted, but are subject to availability of open spots.

The Thunder ended their season, and 12th straight appearance in the NCAA Softball Championship Tournament, tied for third in the nation finishing with a 37-8 record. The finish marks the best in program history and the best by a Trine team during its NCAA era, which began in 2004.


2019 Softball Hitting Clinics

The Trine University softball team will be offering two hitting clinics in the upcoming months.

Dates for the clinics include Sunday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 17. Each day the clinic will run from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The clinics offer a unique opportunity for softball players to learn the techniques used by the elite hitters of Trine University's softball team. During the 2019 season, the Thunder finished 11th in NCAA Division III in team slugging percentage. That came after finishing as the statistical champion in that category in 2018 and top-five in 2017.

Each clinic costs $50 individually and will be capped at 40 participants.

The Thunder finished the 2019 season with a historic run through the NCAA Division III Softball Championship that ended with the team finishing in a tie for third in the nation, the highest finish by a Trine University team since joining the NCAA.


2019 Thunder Softball Team Camps

The Trine University softball team has announced that it will be hosting five fall team camps on Sundays throughout September and early October. All camps will take place at Parkview/SportONE Field on Trine's campus in Angola, Ind.

The team camps are open to five teams per date and will be held on Sept. 8, Sept. 15, Sept. 22, Sept 29 and Oct. 6, all of which are Sundays. The camps will begin beginning at 9 a.m. each date. Registration is limited to the first 25 teams that register.

Each participating team is guaranteed to play two games. The cost of the Thunder Softball Team Camps is 200 dollars per team.

Softball Pitching Clinic

The Trine softball team will be offering a pitching clinic on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The clinic will give participants the chance to work with the pitching staff of the elite Trine University softball team and their pitching coach Dennis Smith. Coach Smith has over 30 years of experience coaching and teaching the art of pitching. Under Smith, Trine pitchers were named MIAA Pitcher of the Year four straight years from 2012 to 2015.

The clinic will cost $50 per participant and is open to players ages 13 and up.

2019 Tennis Camps and Clinics Scheule

The Trine University tennis program has announced their schedule of events for the remainder of 2019. 

Leading off the schedule is the program's 2019 Boys High School Season Prep Camp which will take place Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26. The camp will cost 75 dollars for each participant. For more information check out the camp flyer.

Next up is the 2019 End of Summer Tennis Camp which will be held from Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9. The camp is open to kindergarten through 12th-grade students with any tennis ability from beginner to advanced. Times are staggered based on age group so make sure to view the official flyer for more information. The camp will cost 50 dollars for high school aged students and 40 dollars for all others.

Moving into November the program will host their Junior Competitive Clinics open to intermediate and advanced middle and high school players. Participants will be exposed to drills and match-play focused on taking their game to the next level. The clinics take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on multiple dates in November. Rounding out the year for the program is the Winter Tennis Camp which will be held beginning Monday, December 30 and running through Thursday, January 2. Once again the camp is open to all players from kindergarten through 12th grade with separate times for different age groups. End of Summer Tennis Camp

The Trine tennis teams will host an End of Summer Camp for youth this August.

The camp takes place August 7-11 on the campus of Trine University. Camps are open to tennis players of all ages. Campers will be separated into three age groups: kindergarten through fourth grade, grades 5-8, and grades 9-12. Camp instruction is geared to instruct players of all ability levels.

Boys Volleyball 2019 Overnight Camp

ANGOLA, IND.  --  The Trine University men's volleyball team will host an overnight camp this summer for male players entering ninth grade through college freshman.

The camp will be held from Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4 at Hershall Hall on the campus of Trine University in Angola, Ind.

Campers will receive individual position training, as well as team play, from Thunder coaching staff and players.  The camp will consist of five sessions of skill development followed by tournament play.

Cost for the three-day camp is $250 and each camper will receive a t-shirt.  On-campus housing as well as meals will be provided on Trine's campus.

Thunder Volleyball Camps

The Trine women's volleyball program has announced dates for several upcoming camps running throughout the summer. The Thunder will be hosting six camps geared toward middle and high school aged athletes. 

Three of these camps will be offering in-depth position-specific work, each covering the nuances of specific court positions.  Middles and setters camp will be held Friday, July 12thand Saturday, July 13th. Overnight and commuter options are available. The defensive specialists camp will be offered Friday, July 12th during the day.  Outside and Opposite Attackers camp will be Thursday, July 25th

The Overnight Advanced Skills Camp will be held Friday, July 19th - Saturday, July 20th. Participants will receive eight hours of position-specific instruction spread across three sessions. Specific instruction is available for setting, attacking and defensive skills. Cost of the camp is $150 for an overnight camper or $125 for a commuter. Meals are included in the camp fee.

The team's Middle School Day Camp will be held Monday, July 29 - Wednesday, July 31. The camp will run from 9 - 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. The camp is designed to give campers a well-rounded knowledge of the game and will include basic skills, position understanding, technique, movement work, and overall flow of the game. Cost of the camp is $130, or $150 with lunch included.

The team's final summer camp, Prospect Camp, is designed for players who desire to play at the collegiate level.  It will be a fun, fast-paced environment modeled after a typical college practice.  With a Thunder Preview Visit Day starting at 8 a.m. (requires separate registration with admissions), the Prospect Camp will take place after the completion of the Visit Day.  It is open to any sophomores, juniors, and seniors wishing to play at the next level.  Players will leave the camp with their vertical jump tested and serving speed tested, great information to send to college coaches.

Thunder Wrestling Clinics

The Trine wrestling team will host a series of clinics this summer.

Clinics will be held on 10 Sunday dates beginning May 21. All clinics will take place between 5 - 6:30 p.m. Every clinic will include instruction in technique as well as a live spar session. Clinics will be led and coached by Thunder assistant coach Tom Hall, as well as a variety of college wrestlers at various weights.

Cost of each session $10. Participants can also book all 10 camp dates for $70, paid in advance.

Trine's wrestling program and coaching staff has produced four NCAA Division III All-Americans, as well as 11 national qualifiers. Fourteen Thunder wrestlers have earned Scholar All-American honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
