ANGOLA, IND.-- Take a look at the upcoming schedule and a brief preview of the week ahead in Trine Thunder Athletics.
Tuesday
Women's Soccer: Adrian at Trine, 4 p.m.
Trine opened MIAA play with a strong opening week, finishing 2-1
with victories over Kalamazoo and Calvin. The Thunder are off to a
4-2 start, their best since 2003. Both teams enter the match 2-1 in
league play.
Volleyball: Adrian at Trine, 6:30 p.m.
The Thunder enter the week 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA. Trine
has won five of their last six matches against the Bulldogs.
Wednesday
Men's Soccer: Hope at Trine, 4 p.m.
The Flying Dutchmen will bring their top-10 national ranking to
Weaver Field for Trine's MIAA-opener. Hope was ranked eighth in the
last NSCAA Division III poll. The Thunder most-recently beat
Manchester 3-1 to conclude the Ketner Classic Saturday evening.
Thursday
Men's Golf: MIAA Jamboree at Albion, 1 p.m.
The Thunder enter the third round of the MIAA fall schedule in
third-place. The top four teams are separated by just 14
strokes.
Friday
Women's Golf: UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational, 2
p.m.
The Thunder wrap up their non-MIAA schedule with a trip up to
Wisconsin for the two-round tournament. Trine has finished sixth in
each of their previous two tournaments this fall.
Men's Tennis: Trine at Capital, 3:30 p.m.
Trine will put their undefeated record on the line against the
Crusaders. The Thunder are a combined 11-1 in singles matches this
season to pace the 2-0 start.
Men's and Women's Cross Country: Indiana Intercollegiate
Championship, 4 p.m.
The cross country teams will head to West Lafayette to race
against a large group of competition from the state of Indiana.
Schools from all NCAA divisions and NAIA will be represented in the
race.
Volleyball: Trine at Hope, 6:30 p.m.
The Flying Dutchmen will be the second top-five nationally-ranked
team Trine has faced this season. The no. 1 Calvin Knights gave the
Thunder their only defeat this season.
Saturday
Women's Golf: UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational, 10
a.m.
The two-round tournament concludes Saturday morning.
Women's Tennis: Trine at Capital, 11 a.m.
Trine will look to pull their record to an even-.500 as they
face the Crusaders in a non-conference match. Trine has had four
freshmen record their first collegiate wins already.
Men's Tennis: Trine vs. Otterbein, 11 a.m.
The Thunder and Cardinals will square off at Capital
University.
Volleyball: Alma at Trine, 1 p.m.
The first of two matches on the day for Trine as part of a
tri-match. The Scots have won three of the last four in the
series.
Football: Trine at Rockford, 2 p.m.
The Thunder will look to pull over .500 after defeating Millikin
28-14 last Saturday. Quarterback Taylor Masiewicz has had a hand in
seven of Trine's eight touchdowns this season, throwing three and
running for four more. Maseiwicz's 31 completions against Millikin
were the second-highest in a game in school-history. Saturday's
game will be homecoming for Rockford, which carries a 1-1 record
into the contest.
Men's Soccer: Trine at Olivet, 2:30 p.m.
The Comets pose a challenge for Trine after finishing third
in the MIAA last season.
Volleyball: Defiance at Trine, 6 p.m.
The Thunder wrap-up a tri-match with their third match in less
than 24 hours.
