FREELAND, MICH. -- Trine University baseball player Cale Hall (Orleans, Ind./Orleans) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Position Player of the Week."
The Thunder finished the week with a split against Wittenberg (Ohio) University that saw Trine win the first game, 8-2, but fell short in game two, 20-19.
Overall, Hall finished with an impressive .800 batting average (eight-of-10) with three doubles, scored four runs and drove in three runs.
Hall took advantage of an offensive shootout in the nightcap against the Tigers in which he posted five hits in six at-bats to go along with three runs scored and three RBI.
In game one of the twinbill, he went three-of-four at the plate and scored a run.
For the season, he is currently second on the team in batting average at .438 in seven games played. He is also second in doubles with four in addition to scoring three runs and driving in three runs.
Trine is scheduled to host Kalamazoo (Mich.) College in a MIAA doubleheader on Thursday, Mar. 21. The first game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Jannen Field.
