ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine University ACHA D2 men's hockey team defeated Bowling Green State University by the score of 10-2.
The Thunder started the scoring with a pair of unassisted goals in the seventh minute of the first period with freshman forward Brendan Werstine (Lakewood, Calif.) recording the first and sophomore forward Michael Rand (Langley, B.C.) recording the second. Rand would go on to record another goal and two assists in the game to lead the team with four points in the game. Rand, Werstine, and fellow sophomore forward Joe Laskero (Orland Park, Ill.) would each finish the game with two goals apiece.
Freshman Adam Conkling (Fort Wayne, Ind.) would get the start in net for the Thunder and would make 18 saves while only allowing one goal in the contest. Junior Tyler Hough (Mount Airy, Md.) took over halfway through the second period and would finish the game with 12 saves and also only gave up one goal.
The Thunder next compete on Friday, Nov. 10 when they travel to Michigan State University for an 8:30 p.m. contest.
