NORTH MANCHESTER, IND.-- Friday's night's postponed football game between Trine and Manchester will resume Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
The Thunder and Spartans will resume play with the score knotted 7-7 at the start of the second quarter. The game had been postponed due to lightning delays and inclement weather. Trine took an early lead after the defense forced a three-and-out on the first Manchester possession, as Taylor Masiewicz (Belmont, Mich./Rockford) capped a 12-play, 50-yard drive with a two-yard TD rush to make the score 7-0. Manchester answered on a 91-yard punt return touchdown by Dakota Nelson.
The game will resume with Trine having the ball at 3rd-and-6 from their own 31-yard line, and 15:00 remaining in the second quarter. Masiewicz is 5-of-8 for 40 yards through the air. Austin Shoemaker (Huntington, Ind./Huntington North) is leading the Trine rushing attack with 19 yards on six carries.
Defensively, Aaron Wolf (Huntington, Ind./Huntington North) has paced the Thunder efforts with three stops. Ryan Hogan (Vine Grove, Ky./Meade County) has two tackles-for-loss.
