Yoder Named MIAA Offensive POTW

Yoder Named MIAA Offensive POTW

FREELAND, MICH.-- Trine's Anthony Yoder has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Concord) caught eight passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 45-12 Thunder victory over Kalamazoo. Those marks gave him the fourth-most receiving yards, and second-highest receiving touchdowns in a single-game in school-history. The senior's TD catches covered 27, 10, and 39 yards. He is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Yoder has enjoyed a breakout season in his senior campaign, ranking second in the MIAA in receiving yards (722) and  touchdown catches (8), and  third in yards per catch (17.6). He has caught a team-high 41 passes this season.

Three 100-yard receiving efforts in the last four weeks have highlighted Yoder's season. Included among those efforts was a 151-yard, two-touchdown performance in a come-from-behind victory over conference-foe Olivet.

Trine sits atop the MIAA standings at 4-0. The Thunder are the only unbeaten remaining in conference play, and control their own destiny in the race for the league championship. Trine is 6-2 overall this season, with both losses coming by a combined four points.

The Thunder travel to Hope this Saturday to face the 5-3 Flying Dutchmen, who are 2-2 in conference play. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
