ANGOLA, Ind.-- Trine's Mark Wilson has been recognized by D3Football.com as a member of the organization's Team of the Week.
Wilson (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) set an MIAA-record with 327 rushing yards this past Saturday to help lead the Thunder to a 55-51 comeback victory over no. 22 Albion. The sophomore's first career start also resulted in a school-record 46 carries, while his 327 all-purpose yards were also a program-best mark. He tied an 18-year old school record with five rushing touchdowns in the effort.
Wilson's rushing performance is the second-best in all of NCAA Division III so far this season. The best performance also happened to be this past weekend, as East Texas Baptist's Kendall Roberson rushed for 420 yards and was also recognized on the D3Football.com Team of the Week.
Prior to Saturday's action, Wilson had rushed for 322 yards in his collegiate career. He has totaled 424 yards and eight touchdowns on 60 carries over Trine's last five quarters of football.
The D3Football.com Team of the Week seeks to recognize the top performances from NCAA Division III on a weekly basis. Players are nominated for consideration by sports information directors. The organization began selecting a Team of the Week in 1999.
