ANGOLA, Ind.-- Former Trine quarterback Taylor Masiewicz has received an opportunity to tryout for the Canadian Football League.
Masiewicz (Belmont, Mich./Rockford) will travel to Jackson, Miss. this Friday to work out in front of CFL scouts. The tryout will consist of combine testing, position-specific drills and one-on-one work with scouts and coaches. Combine workouts will consist of the 40-yard dash, short shuttle and broad jump.
"I've been preparing like I'm getting ready for a season," Masiewicz said. "I've mostly been weightlifting, throwing and doing agility work."
Masiewicz concluded his career as Trine's all-time leader in total offense per game. He was an All-MIAA First Team performer and the conference's Offensive MVP in 2014. In 16 career starts, Masiewicz passed for 3,086 yards and added 843 yards rushing.
The CFL is made up of nine teams across Canada. The 103rd edition of the Grey Cup, the league's championship game, was won by Edmonton.
