Carswell Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

ANGOLA, IND.  --  For the third time this season, Trine University running back Lamar Carswell (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) has been selected to the D3football.com "Team of the Week."

[D3football.com Team of the Week]

Carswell, who was recently named the 2018 MIAA Offensive "Most Valuable Player," played a pivotal role in leading Trine to its second-straight undefeated regular season (10-0) and claimed back-to-back outright MIAA Championships with a 48-18 win against Kalamazoo (Mich.) College over the weekend.

Carswell continued to set records when he rushed for a Trine, and MIAA, single-game record 359 yards on 25 carries (14.4 yards per carry) against the Hornets. In addition, he found the endzone four times with runs of 23, two, 54 and 77 yards.  He also set the Trine single-season rushing record with his effort against Kalamazoo and now has 2,184 yards for the year and also took over the NCAA Division III lead in rushing.

The Thunder will make its fifth overall appearance in the NCAA Division III National Tournament and will host St. Norbert (Wis.) College on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.  Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
