ANGOLA, Ind.-- Three players scored in double-figures to lead Heidelberg to a 74-51 victory over Trine in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Hershey Hall.
Deonte Holder came off the bench to score 16 points and pace the Student Princes to the victory. Cole Williams added 14 points off the bench as Heidelberg held a 45-15 advantage in points off the bench. Jared Holmquist led Trine with 15 points, seven rebounds and a game-high five blocks. Heidelberg improves to 3-2 on the season with the victory. Trine is now 1-2 overall.
Will Dixon notched 14 points off the bench on 5-of-11 shooting for Trine. Nick Tatu added nine points. The Thunder shot 34 percent from the field (18-of-53).
Keith Mackie was the only Heidelberg starter to reach double-figures with 10 points. The Student Princes connected on 56 percent of their shots from the field (29-of-52).
A 14-1 run by Heidelberg to start the second half stretched a 35-30 Heidelberg halftime lead into a commanding 49-31 advantage. Holder scored six points during that stretch, which concluded when Josh Pollner converted a layup with 12:07 to play. The Student Princes would go on to lead by as much as 24.
Trine will return to action Monday night when they host Anderson in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m. in Hershey Hall.
