Cox has been tabbed Third Team All-Region 7 behind the team’s NCAA DIII program record 22 wins in 2022-23 and second-place finish in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings.

Three From Men's Basketball Named to All-MIAA Teams
February 24, 2023HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Trine University men’s basketball team had three representatives on the All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) teams, as voted on by league coaches. Brent Cox, Connor Jones and Emmanuel Megnanglo were all honored by the conference as All-MIAA recipients. Cox and Jones were each listed on the First Team and Megnanglo a Second Team All-MIAA student-athlete.

Thunder Fall Short in MIAA Tournament Semifinal Game
February 24, 2023GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Semifinals, the number two seed Trine University men’s basketball team was upended by the three seed Hope College, 67-56. The Thunder were unable to overcome a hot shooting night by their opponents, who finished the evening at 57.8% (26-for-45) from the field.

28 Straight Points Secures Senior Day Victory for Men's Basketball
February 18, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men’s basketball team celebrated their three senior student-athletes in Nate Carbaugh, Brent Cox and Connor Jones on Saturday afternoon in the team’s regular season finale. The Thunder were able to defeated the Adrian College Bulldogs 86-48 to place second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings with a 22-3 record, 12-2 in conference play.

February 15, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men’s basketball team was dominant on Wednesday night over Kalamazoo College 72-45. The Thunder move to 21-3 overall and are 11-2 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play while the Hornets stumble to 5-19 and 3-10 in the league.

#21 Trine Tripped Up at #13 Calvin
February 11, 2023GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Trine University men’s basketball team was defeated for just the third time this season 67-56 at Calvin University on Saturday afternoon. The 21st-ranked Thunder traveled to face a 13th-ranked Knights team on the road to enter into a tie for the lead in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings, but to no avail. Trine will need two wins next week and two losses by Calvin to tie for the regular season title.

The win makes the Thunder 18-2 overall on the season and 8-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. The Britons sit at 6-14 and 3-6.

January 28, 2023OLIVET, Mich. – The Trine University men’s basketball team utilized a 41-20 edge in the second half to earn a 73-52 victory at Olivet College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunder shot 54.5% (18-of-33) in the second and had just two turnovers to pull away. In total, Trine dominated inside with a 50-20 point differential in the paint and had 19 second chance points to the Comets three.
