ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine men's golf team placed second in the AC EDDY Invitational, held Wednesday afternoon at Zollner Golf Course.
The Thunder shot a five-over 293 as a team. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) fired a one-under 71 to finish in a tie for fourth overall. That score for Dwyer marked his lowest-scoring round of the season. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) shot an even-72 to finish second among Thunder golfers and in a tie for ninth overall. Harrison Long and Brandon Hoelzer earned individual medalist honors, each shooting a 68 (4-) to pace Owens Community College to the team championship.

Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) and Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa) each carded a three-over 75 to round out the scoring for Trine's second-place team. Nick Ihrie (Kendallville, Ind./East Noble) and Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich./Holly) each turned in solid round in shooting 72's for an even-par score.
Trine returns to the links Saturday, Apr. 12 when they play the first round of the 54-hole MIAA National Championship Qualifier. The first round will be contested at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The winner of the three-round tournament will receive an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
