JACKSON, MICH.-- The Trine men's golf team placed fourth in the Spring Arbor Invitational, held Thursday at Cascades Golf Club.
The Thunder totaled a two-round score of 624. Leading the way was Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center), who shot a 150 to finish sixth. His first-round score of 74 was two strokes better than his season-average. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) fired a 73 in the second round to finish with a two-round total of 152. He finished tied for eigthth. Paced by individual medalist Cody Lysher's 142, Spring Arbor won the tournament with a score of 595.

Grant Klopfenstein (Howell, Mich./Hartland) improved on his round one score by two strokes to finish with a two-round score of 160. Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) and Kevin Berry (Holly, Mich..Holly) rounded out Trine's performers, as each golfer carded a score of 162.
Trine will compete in the final two rounds of the MIAA National Qualifier Friday and Saturday. If the Thunder win the tournament, they will earn an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
