WEST OLIVE, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team remained in second-place in the MIAA National Qualifier after placing second in round two Friday afternoon at Wuskowhan Players Club.
Thunder golfers finished +9 on the day with a team score of 293. Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) and Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) each finished one-over with 72s to tie for second among individuals. Knapp has played particularly well in the Qualifier tournament, finishing one-over in each of the first two rounds. Dwyer saw a three-stroke improvement in round two on a par-71 course. He finished four-over in round one. Through two rounds, Trine has a team score of 587. The score places the Thunder 15-strokes behind Hope.

Brandon Snell (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) finished third among Trine golfers with a three-over 74. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) finished one-stroke behind with a 75. Snell and Bremigan have the third and fourth-best average scores respectively for the Thunder through the first two rounds. Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) rounded out Trine competitors in the event.
The three-round MIAA National Qualifier concludes tomorrow at Wuskowhan Players Club. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
