WEST OLIVE, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team remained in third place in the MIAA National Qualifier following a third-place finish in round two Friday at Wuskowhan Players Club.
Thunder golfers combined for a score of 312 to finish 28-over par in round two. The performance leaves Trine in third place in the National Qualifier standings, 46 strokes back of first-place Hope and 34 strokes behind second-place Calvin. The winner of the three-round, 54-hole tournament receives an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich. / Edwardsburg) finished with a three-over 74 to card the best score by a Thunder golfer on the day. Tevlin's performance included a two-under score on the front nine. He finished sixth overall in round two.
Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/ Liberty Center) finished with a 77 to place second among Trine golfers. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich. / Coldwater) finished with an 80, while Dillon Kreutzer (Antioch, Ill. / Antioch Community) finished with an 81 to round out the team's top four scorers.
The MIAA National Qualifier concludes tomorrow at Wuskowhan Players Club. The final round tees off at 9 a.m.
