ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University men's hockey team was outscored by visiting Lake Forest College 4-1 in the second game of the weekend Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) doubleheader.
The Foresters struck first in the contest scoring the lone goal of the first period in the seventh minute of the contest.
The 1-0 lead lasted until the sixth minute of the second period when the Thunder pulled even. Sophomore TJ Delaney (St. Louis, Mo.) came up with the goal, his third of the season. Freshman Brett Tierney (West Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Austin Stauffer (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) added assists on the tally.
From there the offense was all on the visiting side as the next three goals came for Lake Forest as they ran away with the game at 4-1.
The Thunder fall to 6-7 overall and 4-4 in NCHA play following the loss. They will return to action on Friday, January 10 when they host Concordia University Wisconsin in the first of a pair of NCHA games. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
