FREELAND, Mich. -- The Trine University men's lacrosse team placed a pair of athletes on the All-MIAA teams the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced. Senior Tyler Corless (St Clair Shores, Mich. / De La Salle) appeared on the first team while classmate Dave Keptner (Midland, Mich. / H.H. Dow) appeared on the second team.
This is the first time Corless has received All-MIAA honors while Keptner has made was selected first team All-MIAA in 2019 and Rookie of the Year in 2018.
Coreless was instrumental to the Thunder's success on offense from his position in the midfield. During MIAA play he finished with a team-high 13 points, while also coming in first on the team with six assists. During the entirety of the season, he finished with 30 points, also a team-high, including 13 assists and 17 goals. He also finished the season with 15 groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Keptner made his presence known on the defensive side of the ball as a long pole midfielder. He would lead the team over the course of the season with 16 caused turnover, with eight of those coming during conference play. He would also finish fourth on the team with 23 groundballs. In addition, he was able to tally five goals and two assists during the season.
The Thunder finished the season 5-7 overall and 3-3 in MIAA regular season play. They entered the MIAA Tournament as the four-seed and advanced to the semi-final round before bowing out.
