Nick Lang (Indianapolis, Ind. / Cathedral) scored early in the second half to give the Thunder the 1-0 lead over Albion. Lang has now scored or assisted on the last six goals for Trine. Bill Wilson (McCordsville, Ind. / Pendleton Heights) scored another goal for Trine at the 20:51 mark of the second half to give the Thunder the 2-0 victory. Trine improved to 7-9-1 overall and 4-7 in conference matches. The win moved Trine into fourth place in the MIAA, pending the outcome of a late match between Hope and Kalamazoo. Albion fell to 5-10-1 overall, 3-8 in MIAA play.
The first half end in a stalemate between the Thunder and the Britons. Trine outshot Albion 10-4 in the first half, with seven of Trine's shots on goal.
At the 13:25 mark of the second half, Lang picked up his ninth goal on the season with a long goal from a little over 30 yards out. Lang's goal gave him 24 points on the season, the second-most at Trine in the Division-III era (2004-present). Ten minutes after Lang's goal, Wilson scored an insurance goal for the Thunder. Wilson now has two goals on the season.
Ian Jindrich (Aurora, III. / Metea Valley) made three saves to earn his fourth-career shutout and his third in conference play.
Trine outshot Albion by a 29-12 margin.
The Thunder return to action this Saturday, Oct. 24 when they travel to Olivet for a noon game.
