COLUMBUS, OHIO-- The Trine men's tennis team was defeated by Otterbein, 6-3, in non-conference action Saturday morning at Capital University.
Tyler Davis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider) and Victor Flynn (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) each picked up singles victories to lead the Thunder. Davis' win in the no. 3 court was his first of the season. Flynn remained undefeated in his freshman campaign after 6-0, 6-3 victories in the no. 6 flight. Flynn is now 4-0 on the season. Trine's record evens at 2-2 with the loss.
Donald Zehner (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) and Spenser Gilbert (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) combined for Trine's doubles victory in the no. 3 flight. The duo are now 3-1 on the season.
Will Wilson, Daivd Seckel, Kendall Coffman, and Perry Williams all won in singles matches to lead Otterbein. Wilson and Seckel, Coffman and Zach McDivitt combined for doubles victorires in the no.'s 1-2 flights. Otterbein improved to 1-1 with the victory.
Trine returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Muskingum. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
