NAPERVILLE, ILL. -- Members of the Trine University men's outdoor track and field team traveled to Naperville, Ill. to compete in the unscored Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College.
The two-day event began yesterday (Thursday, May 9) with the only Thunder competitors taking part in events on the track that included sophomore Levi Neuzerling (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) in the 5000-meter run and posted a time of 15:52.23. Also competing was the sophomore duo of Derek Miller (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) and Jack Beakus (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) in the 10,000-meter run. Miller recorded a time of 31:41.24 to place 15th and Beakus rank a time of 32:29.46 to place in the top-25 in 24th place overall.
On Friday, the lone competitor was senior Nick Zak (Saint John, Ind./Hanover Central) who ran in the 1500-meter run and had a mark of 4:00.42 to place 44th of 112 total runners.
Up next on the schedule is a return trip to Naperville, Ill. to take part in the Gregory Invitational next Wednesday-Thursday, May 15-16 hosted by North Central. The first events on Wednesday are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
