ANGOLA, IND. -- Trine University men's volleyball assistant coach Ryan McFarland has been promoted to a full-time position with the Thunder program. In addition to assisting the men's program, McFarland will also serve as an assistant coach with the women's volleyball team.
McFarland came to Trine after a year as the head coach of the junior varsity boys team at Lincoln Way West High School in Illinois as well as helping with the varsity boys team as the setting coach. In addition, McFarland served as a coach with the Ultimate Volleyball Club in Chicago.
At the college level, McFarland was the head coach of the women's club team (2012-15) at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. While there, he was in charge of all team activities and helped lead his teams to multiple top-ten finishes and club national tournament appearances.
McFarland was a student at Ferris State where he completed three years towards a Bachelor's degree in marketing.
