ANGOLA, IND.-- Trine's women's basketball team fell to #2 Hope 82-38 in MIAA action Saturday afternoon in Hershey Hall.
The Flying Dutchmen never trailed and controlled the action from start to finish on their way to their 12th-straight win. Megan Kelly scored a game-high 17 points to lead Hope. The Flying Dutchmen outrebounded Trine 49-28 and held a 46-18 advantage in the paint. Kelsey Henselmeier (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) led Trine with 12 points. Trine falls to 3-9 on the season and 0-3 in MIAA play. Hope is 12-0 and 4-0 in conference play.
Maura McAfee notched a double-double for Hope with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Elizabeth Perkins came off the bench to score 13 points. The Flying Dutchmen shot 45 percent from the field (30-of-67) and converted 23 Trine turnovers into 30 points.
Alivia Recker (Arlington, Ohio/Arlington) and Katelyn Sager (Kell, Ill./Salem Community) each added six points for the Thunder. Trine shot 29 percent from the field (14-of-49).
The Thunder return to action Wednesday, Jan. 8 when they host MIAA-foe Adrian at 7:30 p.m.
