ANGOLA, IND.-- Trine's women's basketball team fell to Adrian, 69-45, in MIAA action Thursday evening in Hershey Hall.
The Bulldogs never trailed in the contest. Adrian turned in a stingy defensive effort, forcing 19 turnovers and converting them into 26 points. LaQwana Dockery led the way offensively for the Bulldogs with 18 points and six rebounds. Lauren Tait (Syracuse, Ind./Wawasee) led Trine with a career-high 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Trine falls to 3-10 overall and 0-4 in MIAA play. Adrian is now 7-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Alivia Recker (Arlington, Ohio/Arlington) added nine points, five rebounds and two assists for Trine. The Thunder shot 33 percent from the field (18-of-55) and hit 8-of-12 free throws (67 percent).
Brigitte Zavithsanos came off the bench to score 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting for Adrian. The Bulldog bench outscored their Trine counterparts 35-14. Adrian also held a 28-22 advantage in the paint.
Trine will return to action Saturday when they travel to MIAA-foe Albion. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
