SAUGATUCK, MICH.-- The Trine women's golf team placed third in the MIAA Jamboree at Hope, held Tuesday at Ravines Golf Club.
The Thunder shot a combined 351 and remain in fourth-place in the conference standings. Leading the way was Amy Worthington, who tied for second with a 79 (+7). The reigning-MIAA Player of the Week started slow, but finished with a strong 35 on the back nine. The junior has placed sixth or better in all three Jamboree rounds, including a first-place finish in the Jamboree at Alma. Hope paced all teams with a score of 319. Janice Heffernan of St. Mary's was the individual medalist with a 78 (+6).
Finishing second among Trine golfers was Jaime Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central), who finished 10th overall with an 85. The score was four-strokes better than her season-average. The score marked the sophomore's best effort in a Jamboree this season.
Rounding out the top four for the Thunder were Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) and Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth).

Three rounds of play remain in the MIAA season. The MIAA Jamboree at Adrian will be held this Saturday, Oct. 4 at Lenawee Country Club.
