AVON PARK, Fla.-- The Trine women's golf team placed second in a four-team tournament hosted Wednesday by Webber International.
The Thunder accumulated a team score of 350 to finish three strokes behind Webber International in Trine's first tournament of the spring season. Amy Worthington (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) and Katherine Guertin (Worthington, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) tied for Trine's best score as each golfer notched an 86. Guertin's score was six strokes better than her average during the fall season. The Thunder finished one stroke ahead of Wartburg. St. Vincent placed fourth.
Jaime Frost (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) and Julia DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) rounded out Trine's top four contributing to the team score. Amanda McPherron (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) and Mikala Freeland (Danville, Ind./Danville Community) also competed for the Thunder.

Trine's next tournament will be the Washington University (Mo.) Spring Invitational, slated for Mar. 28-29 at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill.
