DELAVAN, Wis.-- Julia DeBelly tied for second to lead the Trine women's golf team to a seventh-place finish in the UW-Whitewater Spring Invitational.
DeBelly (Sylvania, Ohio / Northview) fired a season-best 77 to finish four-over in round two and lock up the second-place individual finish. DeBelly's two best rounds of the year left her +9 in the two-round tournament, tied with three other individuals. Trine finished with a score of 331 in round two to finish the tournament at 666 (+82). Wartburg College won the tournament with a team score of 624. A total of 81 golfers and 16 teams competed in the event.

For the second consecutive day, Jaime Frost (Saint John, Ind. / Hanover Central) set a new season-best. Frost followed up yesterday's 83 with a score of 80 in round two. She finished tied for 19th.
Ryleigh Gordon (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) finished with an 84 in round two to follow-up on yesterday's 85. The two rounds were Gordon's best of the spring. She finished with the third-best score among Thunder golfers and tied for 27th overall.
Brooke Johnson (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Prairie Ridge) and Claire Barnett (North Manchester, Ind. / Manchester) rounded out Trine's efforts in round two as each golfer finished with a 90. Jordan Stevens (Brownstown, Ind. / Brownstown Central) also competed as an individual.
Trine will compete in the first round of the three round, 54-hole MIAA National Qualifier Tuesday, Apr. 26. The round will contested at Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
