BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team defeated Albion College in the Trine/Albion Cup on Monday afternoon at Battle Creek Country Club.
The Thunder and Britons paired off and played each other in a match-play event, with each team member scoring one point for winning a hole. Trine won the event by a score of 47-33.
Freshman Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] scored the most points with 12 and won her matchup 12-4. Classmate Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] had double digit points as well in a 10-6 victory.
Junior Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] and freshman Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] were victors in their matchups 6-4 and 9-4. Juniors Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] and Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area] had five points apiece to add to the Thunder total.
The Trine women play at Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, Michigan for their next event, the Adrian Invitational, on Thursday, April 14.
