Albion's Kadie Koolwick scored six goals and two assists to lead the Briton scoring efforts.
The Britons' Julie Wood contributed to the offense with her five goals and two assists, while Shannon Kahl scored three goals and had to assists. Trine moved to 1-10 on the season and 1-6 in MIAA play. Albion improved to 9-6 and 8-0 in MIAA play, and secured the conference title with the victory.
Thunder goalie Caity Rose (Hamilton, Ind. / Hamilton) had 14 saves for the day. This is Rose's eighth game with 10 or more saves on the year. Trine's Rebecca Plantz (DeWitt, Mich. / DeWitt) and Anne Mammel (Tecumseh, Mich. / Tecumseh) added two ground balls each. Both Plantz and Mammel also caused two turnovers each. Whitney Shaffer (Tipton, Ind. / Tri-Central) added one caused turnover, giving her 16 caused turnovers in MIAA play this season, second in the conference.
The Britons totaled 42 shots for the day. Albion held a 14-9 edge in ground balls.
Trine will return to action on Saturday, April 30 for an MIAA conference game against Alma College. The game, hosted at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium, will honor Trine's seniors for Senior Day, and is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
