ANGOLA, Ind. -- Sophomore Kristin John (South Bend, Ind. / St. Joe's) had another record-breaking day as the Trine University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-1 victory over visiting Elmhurst College.
The Thunder scored the first six goals of the contest to go up 6-0. John started the scoring and would score three in total during the stretch. Sophomore Shea Rayburn (Attica, Ind. / Attica) came away with two and freshman Peri Damofal (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) added one.
After the lone Bluejay goal of the contest, coming with 16 minutes left in the first half, the Thunder would cruise to the victory scoring the final 10 goals of the contest.
John led the way for the team finishing the game with seven goals and four assists. Those eleven points break the university single-game record, which John set earlier this year.
Rayburn finished second on the team finishing with three goals. Sophomore Kristen Nguyen (Locust Grove, Ga. / Luella) finished the contest with two goals and added two assists. Darmofal also finished with two goals.
Freshman Emily Morthorst (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) picked up her fourth win of the season in goal for Trine.
