WHEATON, Ill.-- Trine's Mack Green placed second, and Brandon Preston placed fourth in the Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College.
Green (Buchanan. Mich./Buchanan) defeated Heidelberg's Nino Majoy, the no. 3 ranked wrestler in the nation, by 3-2 decision to advance to the Championship match. Green was pitted against top-ranked Cody Lovejoy of Ohio Northern. The no. 1 ranked Lovejoy was able to earn the victory by 2-0 decision, giving Green the second-place finish.
Preston was eliminated from championship contention by 3-0 decision at the hands of UW-Parkside's Joe Her. Preston responded in a strong fashion with a second-period pin of Martino Balsiger of UW-La Crosse. The senior earned the fall at the 4:40 mark to advance to the third-place match, where he was defeated by Sean Ambrosio in a 1-0 decision.
Green put together a 4-1 performance in the tournament to improve to 29-3 on the season. He entered the weekend ranked second in the nation. Preston went 4-2 on the weekend and is now 14-6 on the season.

Trine returns to the mats this Friday, Feb. 6 when they host Alma in a dual match at Hershey Hall. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
