ANGOLA, IND.-- Adrian scored early and held on the rest of the way for a 1-0 victory over Trine in MIAA action Tuesday afternoon at Weaver Field.
Carlin O'Malley scored just under 15 minutes into the contest on a cross from Sophie Rammal, and the Bulldog defense shut out the Thunder the rest of the way to earn the victory. Lexi Lewandowski made seven saves in net to earn the shutout. Trine outshot Adrian by a 10-9 margin and produced four corner kick opportunities to the Bulldogs' two. Trine falls to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the MIAA. Adrian improves to 4-2-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
O'Malley's goal at the 14:53 was her second of the season and first game-winner. The Bulldogs have now won four of their last five.
Trine get a much-needed eight-day break after playing four matches in the last nine days. The Thunder return to action next Wednesday, Sept. 24 when they host Olivet at 4:00 p.m.
