ANGOLA, IND.-- Trine battled St. Mary's to a scoreless draw in double-overtime to close out the season Monday afternoon at Weaver Field.
The Thunder outshot the Belles by a 14-11 margin, but neither team was able to break through. Kristina Veljovic (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) made four saves to earn her first-career shutout for the Thunder. Chanler Rosenbaum also stopped four shots for St. Mary's. Trine concludes the season 4-11-4 overall, 2-10-4 in the MIAA. The Belles conclude their season 6-11-3 overall, 4-9-3 in conference matches.
Trine seniors Eleni Agelopolous (Munster, Ind./Munster) and Kara Franks (Smithville, Ohio/Smithville) got honorary starts in the match before departing from the action.
Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) and Amy Williams (Garrett, Ind./Northrop) played the final game of their Thunder careers. King and Williams conclude their careers ranked one and two in minutes-played at Trine in the Division III era. King has seen over 1,500 minutes more action than any player at the school since 2004.
Skyler Reed (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) got off two shots on goal for the Thunder. Kelly Wilson had three shots for the Belles.
