FREELAND, Mich. – Senior Marisa Robinett (Auburn, Ind. / DeKalb) has earned a spot on the 2019 All-MIAA second team representing the Trine University women's soccer team as a defensive player the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced.
It is the first time in her career that Robinett has received All-MIAA honors and the first time a member of the Thunder has earned the honor since the 2017 season.
"I could not be happier for Marisa for receiving this recognition," said head coach Gary Boughton, "It is a testament to not only her talent but her hard work, effort and attitude that she competes with that coaches throughout the MIAA felt she was deserving of this honor. I am very proud of her."
Robinett finished the season with seven points fourth-most on the team. Most of those points came from her team-high five assists. That tally was a historic one as it gave Robinett the career record at Trine since the university began competing in the NCAA.
Aside from the offensive stats, Robinett was a crucial member of the defense while also taking corner and free-kick opportunities for the Thunder.
