ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine women's tennis team fell to Spring Arbor 6-3 in a non-conference match Thursday night at Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic Recreation Center.
Singles victories for Jessica Huhnke (Newburgh, Ind./Castle), Lauren Schlueter (Akron, Ohio/Revere) and Allison Marley (New Carlisle, Ind./Prairie) highlighted the Trine effort in the match. Huhnke (no. 1 singles) and Schlueter (no. 3 singles) each won in straight sets. The duo has each won their last two matches. Marley prevailed in a hard-fought, three-set match to earn her victory at no. 6 singles. Trine falls to 5-6 on the season.
Spring Arbor swept doubles play. Quincy Banini, Katie Storrer and Erin Hossack each added singles victories.
Trine returns to action Saturday, Mar. 29 when they host MIAA-foe St. Mary's at 1:00 p.m. in the ARC.
