ANGOLA, IND. -- The 2020 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Indoor Track & Field Team has been announced and Trine University had multiple representatives for their efforts this past weekend at the conference championship meet.
Highlighting the All-Conference team was junior Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) who repeated as the MIAA "Most Valuable Track" athlete after capturing three individual event titles at this year's conference meet and was also a member of a winning relay team in the 4x400-meter.
Bultemeyer posted the top overall time in the 400-meter dash, the 800-meter dash and mile run. In the 400m, she posted a winning time of 59.08 seconds and then had a top overall mark of 2:17.59 in the 800m which was also a MIAA championship record. She capped her individual day on the track with a time of 5:08.27 in the mile to take top honors.
In the 4x400, the team of sophomore Stephanie Hartpence (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), sophomore Chloe Brittain (Breckenridge, Mich./Breckenridge), freshman Amira Faulkner (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) and Bultemeyer finished with the top overall time of 4:12.58. All four runners garner All-MIAA status for winning the event.
Completing the list of All-Conference award winners for Trine include sophomores Valerie Obear (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and Autumn Presley (Pleasant Lake, Ind./Angola). Obear captured the weight throw with a toss of 56' 10.00" and Presley won the pole vault at a height of 10' 0.00."
Next on the schedule is the two-day Wartburg (Iowa) Last Chance Meet before the NCAA Division Indoor Championships. The Last Chance Meet is set for Friday-Saturday, Mar. 6-7 in Waverly, Iowa. Start time is TBA.
