ANGOLA, Ind. -- Three members of the Trine University women's volleyball team have received Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) end of year awards, the association announced on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

A pair of Thunder were awarded first-team All-MIAA honors, the first time that Trine has placed multiple players on the first-team. Juniors setter Jacqueline Baughman (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lutheran Northwest) and outside hitter Madison Munger (Indianapolis, Ind. / Franklin Central) both made the team for the first time in their careers.

Baughman enters the postseason with 1038 assists, 267 digs, 114 kills and 45 service aces. She leads the MIAA with her assist total while also coming in tops by averaging 9.11 assists per set. Earlier this season she picked up her 1,000th career assist and now has accumulated 1,242 in her career.

This past week Baughman earned her second MIAA Specialist of the Week of the season following a game at Saint Mary's where she recorded the first triple-double of her career with 10 kills, 36 assists and 18 digs.

Munger ends the season ranked third in the nation with 508 kills and sixth with 4.46 kills per set while also leading the MIAA in both statistics. She also came in second on the team with 288 digs while adding 22 service aces and 40 total blocks.

Her kill total for this season is a single-season record for the Thunder since the team joined NCAA Division III. She also picked up the 1,000th kill of her career this past weekend against Saint Mary's, becoming just the fourth Thunder member to reach the mark in the team's NCAA era.

Earlier this season Munger picked up the first MIAA Volleyball Athlete of the Week honor of her career after a week in which she recorded 53 kills in just three matches including a three-set match against Capital University where she came away with 17 kills on a .244 hitting percentage.

The final member of the Thunder to receive an MIAA honor was senior Danielle Stanichuk (Troy, Mich. / Athens) who was named the 2019 MIAA Senior Sportswoman of the Year. The inaugural award honors a senior athlete for excellence in the NCAA Division III ideals. She finished the regular season with 231 digs and 34 aces in her role as a defensive specialist. Off the court, Stanichuk will graduate in May with both a degree in Business Management and a Master's in Business Administration.

"She has truly steeped into her own on the court this year, by demanding the best from herself and her teammates at every practice and match," head coach Jamie Wozniak said of Stanichuck, "Over her four years she has adapted to each role the team has needed her tin and been an exemplary teammate."

The Thunder finished the regular season tied for third in the MIAA with a 5-3 record and a 17-12 overall record. They will host Saint Mary's College tonight, November 5, in the first round of the 2019 MIAA Volleyball Tournament. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
