UPLAND, IND. -- The Trine University women's cross country team placed fourth at the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University in Upland, Ind.
Trine posted a team score of 122 points to place fourth of eight schools. Madonna (Mich) University ended the day with the top overall team score of 39 points and was followed by the University of Indianapolis in second place with 55 points. Host school Taylor rounded out the top three teams with 55 points.
Individually, the top time for the Thunder was turned in by junior Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) who ran a time of 19:31.3 and placed 12th overall of 103 total runners.
Joining Bultemeyer in the top-25 was freshman Ali Smith (Temperance, Mich./Bedford Senior) who posted the second fastest time for the Thunder, and was 19th overall, after completing the course in a time of 19:56.0.
Junior Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) placed 24th after running a time of 20:08.9 to complete the list of Trine competitors who finished in the top-25.
Sophomore Chloe Brittain (Wheeler, Mich./Breckenridge) finished just outside the top-25 in 26th place after running a time of 20:13.4.
Trine will next compete at the Louisville Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Louisville, Ky. The women's race is slated to start at 12:45 p.m.
