  • Thunder Advance to MIAA Tournament Championship Game

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A strong second quarter helped propel the Trine University women’s lacrosse team to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Championship game with a 15-11 win at Kalamazoo College. Trine moves to 12-5 overall after securing an MIAA Semifinal win and Kalamazoo’s season comes to an end at 10-4.

    ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men’s and women’s track and field programs begin the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Outdoor Championships on Thursday, May 2 and the team champion will be crowned on Friday, May 3.
  • Five Collect All-MIAA Honors from Trine Women's Lacrosse

    HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team had five representatives on All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Teams in the 2024 season, the most of any team in program history. Calista Richmond, Brooke Hoag and Maddy Kasten were First Team All-MIAA honorees while Alyssa Keptner and Evalyn Bellotti were recognized on the Second Team All-MIAA. The Thunder tied for second in the league standings with a record of 5-2 in the conference and 11-5 overall. They travel to Kalamazoo College in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m.
  • Men's Tennis Lands Three on All-MIAA Teams

    HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced the 2024 edition of its postseason honors with three members of the Trine University men’s tennis team represented. Freshman Sammy Yin was a first team selection while sophomore Andrew Spirrison and junior Cole Goodman both made the second team.

    OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship rounds concluded on Saturday at The Legacy Golf Club. The Trine University men’s golf team was fourth in the two-round event, but placed third in the league standings with an average score of 305 as a team over the six conference rounds.

    ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University baseball team suffered a doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon at home versus Alma College in the penultimate series of the regular season. The Thunder fall to 10-25 overall and 2-16 inside the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) while the Scots of Alma are 24-13 and 13-5 in league play.

  • Men's Golf Remains Second in Conference Standings with One Round to Play

    OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. – After day one of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, the Trine University men’s golf team is third on the leaderboard. The conference leaders Hope College extended their advantage on the rest of the league with a score of 297 on Friday. The Adrian College Bulldogs are currently second through 18 holes at 303 and the Thunder shot a 310. Trine remains second in the league standings but need to pick up 23 strokes to catch up with the Flying Dutch.

    ALMA, Mich. – The Trine University baseball team fought valiantly but came out on the wrong end of a walk-off error for the Alma College Scots to lose 5-4. Trine drops to 10-23 overall and 2-14 inside the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). Alma improves their record to 22-13 and 11-5 in conference play.

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team suffered a 14-13 loss in overtime on Wednesday night to Kalamazoo College in a topsy-turvy affair that features four lopsided quarters. The Thunder won the first and third quarters with ease while the Hornets were exceptional in quarters two and four and after 60 minutes, the score was all even. Kalamazoo was able to secure the opening draw control in the extra frame and went on to score the game-winning goal.

    RICHLAND, Mich. – Grace Dubec of the Trine University women’s golf team put on a show over the two round Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship rounds at Gull Lake View West. The junior had the lowest combined score by six strokes over second place at 152 (75-77) to get into position to be First Team All-MIAA for the first time in her career.

    RICHLAND, Mich. – In the first of two rounds for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, the Trine University women’s golf team struggled as a whole and is currently eighth at the halfway mark. However, junior Grace Dubec shot a new personal best low score of 75 on the day to top the field by two strokes on Monday.
