    ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University softball won their opening game of the 2024 NCAA Division III Softball Championship tournament in convincing fashion, sending Westminster (Pa.) College to an elimination game with a 9-0 run-rule no-hitter.

They learned this morning that they will host a four-team regional beginning on Thursday, May 16.

The nominations were based on athletic accomplishment, leadership, character, citizenship, and scholarship.

    ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University baseball team concluded the 2024 season with a victory against The University of Olivet, 12-8. That game was seven innings in length after game one of Sunday’s doubleheader went into extra innings. The Comets secured the game and series win with a 4-0 triumph in 12 innings.

    HOLLAND, Mich. – In the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship game, the Trine University women’s lacrosse team was defeated by Hope College by a score of 20-8. The Flying Dutch (13-4) advance to the NCAA Tournament with the win while the Thunder (12-6) set a new record for most wins in a season.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the ninth consecutive season, the Trine University men’s track & field team has won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. It is the program’s fourth outdoor crown in a row to go with five straight indoor MIAA titles. Hope College made things interesting, but once the dust settled on the 20 events, Trine tallied 185 points to Hope’s 178.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – At the 2024 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Outdoor Championships, the Trine University women’s track & field team placed second overall, with Hope College winning the team championship. The Flying Dutch tallied 240 points and the Thunder had 182 at meet’s end.

The Thunder are 10-26 overall and 2-17 inside the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) while the Comets improve to 10-26 as well but are 4-15 in league play.

Trine moves to 12-5 overall after securing an MIAA Semifinal win and Kalamazoo’s season comes to an end at 10-4.

  • Five Collect All-MIAA Honors from Trine Women's Lacrosse

    HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team had five representatives on All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Teams in the 2024 season, the most of any team in program history. Calista Richmond, Brooke Hoag and Maddy Kasten were First Team All-MIAA honorees while Alyssa Keptner and Evalyn Bellotti were recognized on the Second Team All-MIAA. The Thunder tied for second in the league standings with a record of 5-2 in the conference and 11-5 overall. They travel to Kalamazoo College in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m.
