ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University Assistant Vice President for Athletes Matt Land has announced that Chris Garrity will be the next coach of the school's ACHA D3 hockey team.
"Garrity brings a great understanding of the hockey culture at Trine and a true love for coaching," said Land, "Both will serve him well as we continue to elevate our club hockey teams."
Garrity, a 2021 graduate of Trine, was a participant during the Thunder's inaugural season of hockey. He played four years on the NCAA men's hockey team at the school. Last year he served as the head coach of the Angola High School hockey team, helping to move the team toward eventual varsity status.
"I am truly excited for the opportunity to start my career as a collegiate head coach at my alma mater," Garrity explained, "It was a pleasure to play at Trine and I look forward to striving for future success from behind the bench."
