  • Figure Skating takes Second at Skate On Wisconsin

    MADISON, Wis. – With a total of 219 team points, the Trine University figure skating team finished in second at the 2024 Skate On Wisconsin intercollegiate competition this month. With all teams being limited to 22 starts due to the huge number of Midwest competitors attending, the Thunder knew that Skate On Wisconsin would be an extremely close event, and fought to the end to earn additional points towards qualifying for the National Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. this April.

  • Figure Skating Defends Midwest Championship, Winning Fourth Consecutive Conference Competition

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Trine University’s figure skating team has once again made history, earning a fourth consecutive conference competition victory in an extremely competitive field of 24 schools at the 2023 Bronco Challenge Cup this past weekend. The Thunder finished the event with 290 points, just two points shy of the program record of 292 points recorded at last season’s Thunder Country Classic.
  • Figure Skating Takes Tenth at 2023 National Finals

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Trine University figure skating team finished their season with a tenth-place finish at the 2023 National Intercollegiate Finals. The team tallied finishes worth 136 points to take the final spot in the top-ten.
  • Figure Skating Ends Regular Season Undefeated, Champions of Midwest Conference

    ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University figure skating team won their own Thunder Country Classic finishing off the Midwest Conference season as undefeated champions. They will next take the ice when they head to Anaheim, Calif. for the 2023 U.S. National Intercollegiate Final, having officially qualified for the event as conference champions.

    ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University figure and synchronized skating teams have announced the date of their annual Spring Recruitment and Audition Weekend. The event will take place on beginning on Friday, March 17 and run through Sunday, March 19 at the University’s on campus rink, Thunder Ice Arena.

    ANGOLA, Ind. – On Sunday this past weekend the figure and synchronized skating teams kicked off their season with an alumni, friends and family exhibition. During the event the skating teams performed pieces of their new competition programs and also shared the ice with alumni who returned home to participate in Trine University’s Homecoming activities.
