OLIVET, Mich. - The Trine University men’s golf team placed 10th at the two-day Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament with a total score of 309-325-634.
Calvin College finished first with a two round score of 300-297-597. The Thunder finished just two strokes behind Albion College for ninth place.
Brandon McElhiney (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley), a senior, led the way for the Thunder carding a two-day total 76-78-154 to finish in a tie for 19th. Fellow senior Max Niehans (Nashville, Ind./Brown County) and sophomore Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa) tied for 41st carding totals of 79-80-159 and 77-82-159. Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek), a sophomore, finished tied for 58th with a score of 77-86-163. Senior Seo Young Youn (Korea) rounded out the scoring for the Thunder finishing in a tie for 71st carding a two-day total of 81-85-166.
Trine will compete in the first MIAA Jamboree on Thursday, September 8 hosted by Albion College with tee-time set of 1:00 p.m.
