ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Trine University men's hockey team found themselves outmatched for the second day in a row as Adrian College sent them home with an 11-1 loss.
The Bulldogs held the Thunder scoreless through the first two periods while coming away with seven goals of their own.
They increased the lead to 8-0 in the third minute of the final period, before Trine was able to crack the scoreboard. Junior Garrett Hallford (McKinney, Texas) scored the goal, while classmate Aryan Batra (Franklin, Mich.) and sophomore Zach Vancompernolle (Traverse City, Mich.) added assists.
The Thunder fall to 2-6-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play and 3-9-1 overall following the loss.
Trine will enter the NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs as a four-seed in the South Division. They will head to Adrian again on Wednesday, March 10 for the first round of the playoffs.
