HILLSDALE, MICH. -- Members of the Trine University men's outdoor track and field team completed the first day of competition at the annual Gina Relays hosted by Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich.
The Thunder competed against schools from all three NCAA divisions (I, II, III) as well as schools from the NAIA.
Two men's events were held on the first day with the 5000-meter run and 10,000-meter run. Trine's top finisher in the 5000m was senior Noah Acker (Kendallville, Ind./East Noble) with a time of 15:17.28 which was good enough for 23rd place among a field of 91 total runners. Sophomore Jacob Myers (Kokomo, Ind./Northwestern) had the second quickest time of the event for the Thunder of 15:36.32 and placed 35th overall.
In the 10,000m, senior Harrison Korkos (Rochester, Ind./Rochester) was the lone Trine runner and placed fifth overall out of 15 total runners with a mark of 31:37.79.
Trine continues the three-day event when competition resumes tomorrow (Friday, Apr. 23) at Hillsdale College. The first events are slated to start at noon.
