NEW ORLEANS, La. – Seniors Jake Gladieux and Theodore Samra from the Trine University men's track and field team were each named United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region for their efforts during the 2023 outdoor track and field season.
In order to be named All-Region, a student-athlete must be in the top five in the region or top three if you are a member of a relay team. Gladieux holds the top spot in the Great Lakes region in both the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdle events. Samra has the second-best shot put throw in the Great Lakes region.
Both of Gladieux's fastest times of the season came all the way back in the month of March. He ran a 53.05-second time in the 400-meter hurdles at the Thrills in the Hills Open at Emory University on March 24, and the next week, he put up his fastest 110-meter run of the season. Gladieux's best time in the 110-meter hurdles was 14.31 seconds, coming at the Spartan Invite on March 31.
For Samra, he secured his best shot put toss of the outdoor season last week at the St. Francis Fighting Chance at 15.90 meters (52' 2.00").
