ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Trine University men's track and field senior Jake Gladieux claimed All-American status in two separate event finals on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Gladieux becomes a six-time All-American in his career by garnering the honors in both the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdle races.
In his first race of the day, Gladieux finished runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles event with a new school record and personal best time of 14.25 seconds. He got out to an early lead in the heat and remained consistent throughout en route to the new best time in Trine track and field history and his second All-American award in the 110-meter hurdle event.
The 400-meter hurdles saw Gladieux place fourth overall with a time of 52.16 seconds. It is a new quick time for Gladieux in the event where he won a national championship in 2021. It is just the second time in Trine men's track and field history that a single student-athlete reached All-American status in two separate events in the same year. In 2008, Russell Dill placed inside the top eight in the same two events as Gladieux.
This concludes the 2023 track and field season for the Thunder after the men's team won their third consecutive Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) title and sent an athlete to nationals for the third straight season.
