ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's and women's track and field programs kick off the 2023-24 indoor season this week. The Thunder men are looking for their fifth consecutive Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) indoor title and their eighth MIAA track and field championship in a row.
Trine kicks off the regular season with a few athletes attending the Blue Gold Invitational at the University of Notre Dame on Friday, December 1. The only other event before Christmas break will be the Strive for Greatness Invitational at Indiana Tech on December 8.
The home portion of the schedule opens on January 13 with the Sean Brady Alumni Invitational on January 13. That event, as well as all home track and field meets, will be held inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC). From there, the month of January concludes with the Mastodon Invitational on January 20 and Steemer Showcase on January 27.
The second home meet of the year will be the Mrs. G Invitational on February 2. The schedule will ramp up heading into the postseason, with meets such as the Midwest Elite Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on February 10 and Hillsdale Tune-Up on February 17.
For the fifth straight season, the Thunder will host the MIAA Indoor Championships on February 24. In an attempt to qualify for nationals, Trine will head west to the Last Chance Meet at Wartburg College on March 2-3 before the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on March 8-9.
