HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Greysen Spohn of the Trine University men's track and field team was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Track Athlete of the Week after an event win at the Hillsdale Tune-Up.
Spohn won his second career Indoor Athlete of the Week award, but his first came as a field athlete in 2023. The senior from Peru, Indiana won the 60-meter hurdle event with a time of 8.22 seconds. The mark is just .02 of a second off his personal best time. He has the second-best time in the conference in the 60-meter hurdles this season and is fifth in the Great Lakes Region.
As a team, the Thunder were second out of five teams and put together enough points to compete with the champions and host, Hillsdale College. Trine defeated Adrian College in the meet by 30 points.
The Trine men will be looking for their fifth straight MIAA indoor championship and eighth consecutive title overall at the MIAA Indoor Championships on Saturday, February 24 at home inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC). Events begin at 11 a.m.
