HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Trine University men's track and field student-athlete Ethan Spahr was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Athlete of the Week following the team's fifth consecutive MIAA Indoor Championship on Saturday.
Spahr, a junior from Osseo, Michigan, competed in all three jumps events for the Thunder and set two personal and school records. He was the event champion in the triple jump at 13.36 meters (43' 10.00") to set a new school record mark.
He was also second in the high jump and long jump. Spahr tied teammate Greysen Spohn at 1.98 meters (6' 6.00") in the high jump and the mark ties the school record for both students. In the long jump, his second-place score of 6.79 meters (22' 3.50") gave him 26 total points at the MIAA Indoor Championships.
Trine will take part in a Last Chance Meet at Wartburg College on March 1-2.
