NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Jake Gladieux of the Trine University men's track and field team NCAA Division III National Athlete of the Week.
It is the first time that any men's student-athlete from Trine has been named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season. Gladieux, a senior from Oregon, Ohio, competed at the Manchester Invitational and won the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdle events and participated in the 4x400-meter relay.
Gladieux ran a 14.36-second time in the event finals of the 110-meter hurdles and a 52.19-second time in the 400-meter hurdles. He now owns three of the top ten times in NCAA Division III in each of the events. The 4x400-meter relay team was third with a time of 3:25.34.
Next on the schedule for the Thunder is the Indiana DIII Championships at DePauw University on Saturday, April 13.
